WILD DAY

It was a wild day today on the coast . We took the opportunity to get some good photos of the Kiama blowhole. It was working but not as good as some other times when this freak of nature sends gushing water high into the air through a cave under the rocks..always seen best when the weather is bad and the seas are high..A big tourist attraction ..so we played tourist today and took lots of photos. A whale dropped by to give us the ' eye' but was gone before we could reach it to take a good photo..

THE COMEDIAN

I completed this painting a couple of years ago for my comedian friend . I really enjoyed painting the portrait of this character with a big heart..

THE ROSE SHOW

A friend and I had a lovely day yesterday at our art society's "Rose" exhibition..We were rostered on in the morning and then after lunch we went over to the rose show at the Kiama Pavillion..The display was so beautiful and we took lots of photos that we intend painting in the future..A lazy Sunday today ..organizing my art gear for our ' plein air girls ' painting trip..a busy , busy week ahead..

Saddleback Mountain

We finally got a nice day to go up to Saddleback Mountain for our plein air painting day..The view is stunning from the horse stud high up behind Kiama on the NSW south coast..We even saw whales splashing about in the ocean from our vantage point..The horses were so beautiful with their new foals ..definately a location to visit again to do some more painting..

CUTE MILKING STOOL

Life has been increasingly busy as around here lately ..so much to do with only so many hours in the day ..but it is great to be kept on the go ..just the way I like it ..still not much that I can share at the moment with lots of special event orders under way ..The ' plein Air Girls ' had planned a painting day today at a horse stud but unfortunately the weather has been pretty bad , cold , windy and stormy ..not great for setting up an easel to paint outdoors ..We are all looking forward to our painting trip to Sofala at the end of the month. We will be staying at a fabulous B&B on a large property ..should get plenty of inspiration there ..if not lots of fun..
