AFTERNOON AT THE BEACH
I painted these gulls after a visit to the beach recently one hot afternoon .As the sun was going down it bathed the area in a lovely golden light . I was fascinated by the birds as they pecked for their dinner in the sand , oblivious to me so close by taking photos .

QUALITY TIME
This is my latest painting hot off the easel . I was compelled to paint this one after visiting the beach early one morning . The scene of the Dad fishing while his daughter splashed and played in the water was so touching . There was a sea mist that gave the whole scene a soft dreamy atmosphere that I have tried to capure in this painting.

THE LASIANDER TREE
I was commissioned to do this painting late last year . The customer's son owns this lovely old semi detached house which he is gradually restoring . It has this beautiful flowering purple tree in the front garden . I painted this work from photos provided . The son , his son and dog Harry are on the front steps.

SURF'S UP
I finished this painting today. While I was on holiday at Lake Conjola I spent some time at the beach photographing surfers and marvelling at their bravery . This one beconned to be painted and I was seduced to do so by the light as it hit the back of surfer's right leg also the colour of the water almost made me forget my fear of ocean swimming !

COMMISSIONED PAINTING
I was commissioned to do this painting of my customer's collection of Arnott's biscuit tin collection .
I was also asked to include her bears and old Singer treadle machine..It was quite a lot of work but I am always up for a challenge and really enjoyed painting this one..
It has been a while since I have had a step by step painting to show you so I thought that this would be fun a fun one to do..
It is painted in oil on 80cm x 60cm canvas..Enjoy !
I have just returned from holidaying down the coast and am slowly coming out of holiday mode and back to reality...getting myself organised for what is shaping up to be a very busy year ahead..several exhibitions , one a solo requiring 25 paintings to be completed by March ( Oh my Gosh !) and orders to complete as well..so if I don't get to blog every day you will know that I am burning the candle at both ends just to get it all done !!
