I was commissioned to do this painting of my customer's collection of Arnott's biscuit tin collection .
I was also asked to include her bears and old Singer treadle machine..It was quite a lot of work but I am always up for a challenge and really enjoyed painting this one..
It has been a while since I have had a step by step painting to show you so I thought that this would be fun a fun one to do..
It is painted in oil on 80cm x 60cm canvas..Enjoy !
I have just returned from holidaying down the coast and am slowly coming out of holiday mode and back to reality...getting myself organised for what is shaping up to be a very busy year ahead..several exhibitions , one a solo requiring 25 paintings to be completed by March ( Oh my Gosh !) and orders to complete as well..so if I don't get to blog every day you will know that I am burning the candle at both ends just to get it all done !!
Your pictures awake something deep in me, Kathy! I have always loved hoarding old things and collecting. Some people call my things "dust collectors"! I call it creative clutter! Thank you for this lovely painting on your pages, I looked at it for a long time to study the detail!
ReplyDeleteHi Marie , thankyou for your comments . Yes I was bitten by the collecting bug many years ago ,It is quite an adiction I am afraid ..one of the reasons why I sometimes paint onto old wares is because I still love to search for these old pieces but no longer can keep them all . It is the thrill of finding them and thinking of ways to make them beautiful for someone else to collect that keeps it interesting for me now ..so glad that you are enjoying my blog ..happy painting ,
ReplyDeletecheers, Kathy
Kathy, I am so blown away at your art work. It is so awesome. I truly love everything I have seen. I like the way Marie Theron said it "You awaken something deep in me." I am so glad I found your blog. It makes me happy. Thank you.
