I am just reviving this blog.. please comment so that I know who is still following.
I am shocked to see how long it has been since posting anything here. I guess Facebook has kind of taken my time away from blogging however I really miss making my weekly posts. Just looking back and looking at what I've achieved and now thinking that I need to look forward and let everyone know what I've been up to lately.
I have ventured into the world of teaching over the past two years after much conjoling from my friends to share my skills .
What began with a handful of mature aged students has exploded to 5 classes with upwards of 50 students a week. A total surprise to me being a self taught artist and not thinking that i had much to teach. Well as it turns out I have lots of knowledge collected from a lifetime of painting and honing my skills and I must say it is such a joy to pass some of these on to those who enjoy the classes.
on top of that I have teamed up with a travel organiser to take local bus trip painting tours to local vineyards. As one thing always leads to another we have organised a painting in Italy trip next year .
HELLO EVERYONE !
O mygosh I can't believe it has been so long since I have posted to my blog ..I didn't even know if I still had an account until I found my password and ..yep it still works !
Well I have a bit of catching up to do to say the least .
So much has happened in the past year . I have had several exhibitions with two on the go now ,

I have also joined an art trail here on the south coast and you can read all about it at www.kiamaartstrail.com . We have our studios open on the first weekend of each month and I would love to welcome you to my studio if you are in my area .
Facebook seems to take most of my time these days but I will endeavour to post at least a couple of times a month or more if possible

Phew ! what a busy couple of weeks ..
It was lovely to spend a few days away with my painting group The Plein Air Girls ..The weather was perfect , the company splendid ...the food and wine to die for ! In spite of this we had a very productive time and I managed to get 2-3 plein air paintings done each day ...not masterpieces ..but just had good fun trying to capture the scenery before it changed . What a great little group we have become ! It is such a pleasure to spend time with these ladies several times a year . Look out for a featured article about us in (maybe) the next Australian Artist Magazine .
There is nothing like a painting trip with the 'Girls' to get me all enthused and inspired to paint so I was straight into this painting above on my return ..I am very pleased with the outcome of " Rockpool ' painted from a photo of my sweet little grandaughter playing at the beach a couple of months ago .

Hi everyone ,
Well I have had a lovely holiday mainly just staying home in our new house this year . We had a great family Christmas, a quiet New Year's eve spent having drinks with the neighbours but best of all we welcomed our new baby grandson into the world . It was so nice to take the month off just to enjoy family and friends , recharge the batteries and think about projects for the year ahead ..
Also it is good to take a break because now my painting hand is itching to get those thoughts and ideas into action in the studio ..There are several exhibitions that I am working towards ... Over the break I managed to get some great photos of my granddaughter Ruby Rose now 19 months old playing at the beach that will make a great subject for paintings . I have just completed an interesting dog portrait that is a commissioned piece .
I am pleased to report that my small paintings have been selling well at The Kiama Gallery. I am excited to be involved with this lovely little gallery .
On the teddy bear front I have some new ideas too which will unfold in the months ahead ..I have just completed a teddy item pictured above that is listed on Ebay . I am very happy to discuss any special orders for any type of painting .
We had a fantastic opening to our exhibition last Friday night at the Shoalhaven Gallery , Nowra . The gallery was packed with people and a couple of paintings were sold . I was excited to sell my painting ' Reflecting the Past ' that I am holding in this photo and newspaper feature of us all at the Gallery . The exhibition continues until 8th February .
