I have just finished painting the artwork onto this antique box..It is such an unusual piece , made from either Kauri or huon pine , it features this beautiful Edwardian pattern on the top...I tried out something different to paint the design onto the front of the box ..I have done it in sepia tones with a touch of off white and have created the fur on the bears using a scratch art technique..incredibly effective and such fun to do ..
Had a lovely night at the opening of the Kiama Art Society Annual exhibition on Friday night
.The standard is very high this year ..Congratulations to my friend Judith for winning prizes for 2 of her beautiful watercolour paintings and also congratulations to my friend Salwa for winning a prize for her lovely oil painting ..the exhibition continues for 2 weeks , held at the Kiama Leagues Club..
